“It is good to have an end to journey toward;
but it is the journey that matters,
in the end.”
… a traveling from one place to another
… a passage or progress from one stage to another
Yes and Yes!
What I am about to do is not new. If you read Eat, Pray, Love, or saw the movie Wild, you will understand my journey. I read the book; I saw the movie; I was inspired by both. By sharing their experiences, Elizabeth Gilbert and Cheryl Strayed, helped me feel not so alone in some of my loneliest and darkest moments. Their stories were published after they overcome their struggles, their sadness, and transformed their lives – after their journeys ended, or perhaps, began anew.
My journey is just beginning. As I write this, I am still climbing out of the fog of loss. I do not know where I truly belong or what my passion and purpose are. I do not even know where to call home. But, I do know that I do not want to stay stuck in the loss. When I first had the idea for this journey, I saw it as a glimmer of light in the fog. As the idea lingered, it awakened an inner voice that simply said: go and trust, share, it is time to shine. After ignoring this voice for so many years, I now choose to listen. Taking a leap of faith, I am taking this journey from an idea to reality.
This journey will take place from February 2016 through February 2017. Right now, I envision this journey taking me me to India, Thailand, Peru, Haiti, France, England, Ireland, Scotland, and end with a road trip across the U.S. My plans are simple: (1) pause and reset my life, and (2) expand love. I have the what I want this journey to include (inner healing, self-love, and forgiveness,connecting with others, fun and adventures, doing good, spotlighting others who are doing good, and finding my place to call home) but I am trusting in God for how the specifics will unfold.
This is new for me. I will share my journey with you as I go through it. I do not know where, when, or how it will end or what the next journey will be. I hope that by sharing my journey with you, you will feel as if you had your own journey to and we share some smiles, laughter, and make our mark with light and love along the way.
In kindness and with gratitude,
Please watch the video that explains what brought me to this point. This journey is about moving forward and creating a life filled with passion, purpose, prosperity, joy, adventure, fun, and love.
